Most Wanted Top Terrorist Shot Dead

The killing of top terrorist Nordin Muhammad Top nicknamed "Nordin Mat Top" is the significant success story of Indonesia's police today.

Indonesia President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and Australia Prime Minister Kevin Rudd hailed it as a big breakthrough in the fight against cross-border terrorism.

Indonesian police tracked down Nordin and shot him and three other militants dead in a seven-hour siege yesterday(Thursday,Sept.17) at a village hideout in the outskirts of Solo in Central Java.

They also captured three other alleged terrorists including a pregnant woman.

The counter-terrorist squad blew off the walls and roof of the hideout.They seized large quantities of explosives,weapons,grenades and bombs.

Nordin is alleged to be the most wanted terrorist mastermind leading a militant breakaway group of the Southeast Asian terrorist network,Jemaah Islamiyah,supported by the Al-Qaeda.

He is believed to be behind the killing of 250 people in Indonesia including the 200 terrorist victims killed in the 2002 Bali nightclub bomb attack in 2002.

Indonesian police chief Bambang Henderso Danuri held up matching fingerprints to confirm Nordin's death at a televised press conference.Malaysian police had sent Nordin's fingerprints to Bambang for the match-up.

Nordin,known as Dr.Azahari in Johore,Malaysia,was influenced by the extremist teaching of Abu Bakar Bashir,said Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak over television tonight.Any finger pointing of Malaysia exporting terrorism is wrong and false,he stressed.

Abu Bakar set up a muslim religious school in Johore and recruited Nordin to do the dirty evil work.

Nordin and his militant gang are alleged to be responsible for the horrendous bombing of two luxury hotels - the JW Marriot and Ritz-Carlton killing seven people and injuring 50 others on July 17 this year in Jakarta's prime business district.Two suicide bombers also died in the attacks.

Expressing gladness over the elimination of Nordin Mat Top,Susilo Bambang hoped Indonesia would enjoy the peace,security and safety that had been spoiled by senseless terrorist bomb attacks.

Indeed,it is good riddance to wipe out such terror scums.

The corpse of Nordin will be flown to his home in Johore for burial after DNA test hopefully in this holy month of Ramadan in the Muslim calender by Sunday.

Families and friends of innocent victims killed in the U.S.'s 9/11 terror attacks and similar irrational terrorist raids in Mumbai,India,Karachi,Pakistan and elsewhere would appreciate and understand how saddening,stupid and repugnant such evil deeds are committed against humanity.
