Story on Breaking news tonight http://www.breakingnews.ie/ireland/fine-gael-to-table-motion-of-no-confidence-in-government-413841.html that Enda Kenny the head of Fine Gael is to put forward a motion of "No confidence" in the current Fianna Fail / Green Party government this coming Tuesday. This follows a very poor local election result for the ruling parties that saw Fine Gael gain more seats than Fiann Fail to become Irelands largest political party. Independent candidates as well as many left wing political groups got a good deal of support as well as Fine Gael and Fianna Fail.

Votes in the European elections will be counted from 9am this morning but an exit poll(on RTE news tonight) predicts Fianna Fail are going to lose their seat in the capital. There have been some drastic cuts to many ordinary workers pay packets and unemployment has crept over the 400,000 mark for the first time in years so it was always going to be a difficult campaign for the government.
