Mugabe says war vets ready to fight if...
It is now evident that Zimbabwe's Mugabe has taken a do or die stand in the forth coming presidential election in the country. One can now infer from his actions and comments that there will be war in Zimbabwe if he is not voted in as the country's president, a position he has been occupying for the past 28 years. The tyrant has for the past 28 years been maiming and killing journalists and members of opposition party. He claimed to be carrying out the people’s wishes yet Zimbabwe remains the poorest country in Africa facing serious hunger and starvation, and having the highest number of immigrants in South Africa.
Mugabe told youth members of his ruling ZANU-PF party in Harare that the veterans had told him they would launch a new bush war if opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai wins the election. "They said if this country goes back into white hands just because we have used a pen (voted), 'we will return to the bush to fight,'" Mugabe said, in the latest ratcheting-up of pressure to extend his 28-year presidency.
