"Winning" was never a possibility. I think American and NATO efforts in Afghanistan were doomed from the outset as the executive commanders including Clinton, Bush, and Obama had deficient focus, strategy, and plans.

The invasion of Afghanistan was doomed and US imperialists and Taliban were in no-win situation. The only victory for US imperialist was complete devastation of an already improvished Afghanistan;and for Taliban, withdrawl of US led Nato troops. To sum up:no one has won,Afghan masses are real and ultimate losers. For US imperialists Afghanistan is Vietnam ll,for Taliban a fertile ground for radical Islam.
