Mumbai attacks: Pakistan asks India to avoid blame game

Pakistan has asked India to avoid playing blame game in the wake of the Mumbai attacks and respect Islamabad's efforts of combating terrorism.
As efforts continue a day after the synchronized terror attack in Mumbai that claimed 160 lives to free hostages still held at luxury hotels, the blame game is well underway.In a televised address, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh made a barely veiled reference to Pakistan when he stated militant groups based in 'neighbouring' countries were responsible for the attack.
Statement from Pakistan foreign office said that Pakistan stands united with India in the war on terror and longs to extend its full cooperation to curb this menace however India should respect Pakistan’s efforts of combating against terrorism and should avoid playing blame game.
Foreign ministry hoped Indian leadership to have positive reply to Pakistan’s proposal to help locate culprits involved in Mumbai mayhem.
Indian police said they believe the militants may have come aboard rubber dinghies, quickly fanned out across Mumbai and then struck in various places as planned, targeting western and Israeli nationals.

Amazingly, as soon as the Mumbai saga unfolded, the Indian authorities concluded that the perpetrators reached Mumbai from Karachi on boats. But earlier when they reached Mumbai and shifted the weapons and ammunition to fight for over 48 hours inside three important buildings, the Indian intelligence outfits were looking the other side. This shows that it is job of insiders because carrying such a huge quantity of ammunition inside important buildings like five-star hotels is obviously not easy.

yes not easy. it's a shame on the part of Indian security and intelligence. but the young terrorists believed that Muslims in India are oppressed. Whereas, the many Muslim friends that we have here are ashamed of people who think so. Such terrorists are in fact wrecking lives of Muslims in India.

Reshmi, you are right. Yes, terrorists may be Muslims but as far as their talk about Indian Muslims is concerned, they might have been brainwashed. Do you know, such terrorists are trained and brainwashed keeping in view the 'objectives' of those who train them. Would you believe that even if these terrorists were Muslims, they might have been lured by any outfit of non-Muslims, whose objective might be to malign Muslims?

that could be a possibility. but to train the boys with an objective to protect Islam from an imaginary satan world, Muslims are needed, well versed with Islam fundamentals. But yes, the terrorist outfits can possibly be funded by non-muslims too for sheer political objectives. I would never blame every Muslim or Islam, coz I myself have many Muslim friends, whom I look upon.

I have just heard an Indian official telling a television channel that a mobile phone set was recovered from the scene and someone from Pakistan was making calls on that phone. How can one believe that the people who would send terrorists would then call on their mobile phones right in the middle of the drama. Is it not ridiculous. Various things clearly pointed to India's involvement in recent bombings in Pakistan but the Pakistan government never spoke against India in the tone and manner being used by the Indian leaders and officials against Pakistan. It is a political game being played at the cost of lives of innocent Pakistanis and Indians. Some reports also suggest that the Mumbai attackers may be linked to Somali pirates and if it is so, the Indian government might be blaming Pakistan for its own face-saving because the Indian intelligence outfits failed to counter the attack.

I appreciate ur patriotism.but dont see things from just one point of view(u know what i mean!).there are thousands of people who are victims of this from the sub-continent(India n Pakistan).this time it was the elite who were involved and that is creating a lot of fuss as we see.according to me terrorism doesnt have any religion.what religion they belong to is not important.what is important is that they are inhuman.and need to be eliminated to the roots.there were lot of other blast which took place in this year itself in India and we have(india) never learnt a lesson from the past,which is more important than the blame game(as u said!).and what has to be done is left to the governments to decide.but it is important for people like us to be a part of such processes provided they let us.also it is important to make the system corruption free.one has to be patriotic and honest to make it happen.may all the diseased souls rest in peace.

I 've been keenly reading all the comments people have contributed and amazing enough; i did not know most of those. Asians have really far reaching imagination!
From my standpoint; very necessary is to start a joint army operation (without wasting much time) and eradicate all the terrorist camps in the regions of Pak (confirmed by sattelite viewer) Please see that there may be lot of people from Pak who would not beleive this as they do not have information whatsoever in this regard. Sometimes govt. (even govt.) is not sure on this sort of information (so no blaming on this part). eg... Benazir some years back had a visit to America where they asked her about Pakistans Nuclear Capability; and she responded back by saying that Pakistan in not into all this. (as she did not knew Nuclear Operations happening in Pak)... but this was captured and hence proved from Americas side. (not supporting America at all)
My point is simple here; people in Pakistan might not know what those terrorists are doing in the camps within the territory (no blame!), but one thing is for sure; we have to eradicate this asap... (its not like only India is at the receiving end of the terrorism... why do we forget Hotel JW Marriot case???!!!)....
