Mumbai Residents in Human Chain Protest Over Terror Attacks
After candle peace march organised within few days of terror strikes, Thousands of Mumbai residents formed a human chain snaking through the city on Friday, near the terror strike sites last month, to protest against the ghastly assault and government's failure to stop it.
People made a human chain at the worst-hit sites of last fortnight’s terror attacks - the Taj Mahal Palace and Tower Hotel, the Oberoi Trident Hotel and the Nariman House . The effort was coordinated by NGO Mumbai for Peace through some 100 affiliated organisations has massive participation of people from all walks of life, ages, faiths and linguistic groups.
There were two route for the Human chain and the western route for the human chain started at Nariman House in Colaba and went on to Leopold Café, Taj Mahal Palace & Tower Hotel, Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, Cama & Albless Hospital and Metro Cinema - all targeted Nov 26 - and then via Crawford Market, Mazagaon, Sion Circle, Dharavi and Mahim Causeway till S.V. Road in Bandra.
Another chain on was held on the eastern side of the city, the human chain will started at Oberoi Trident Hotel and went via Maharshi Karve Road, Girgaum Road, August Kranti Maidan, Mahalaxmi temple, Haji Ali junction, Worli, Doordarshan Kendra, Prabhadevi and Mahim Causeway and till S.V. Road.
People expressed the need to establish peace by coming out on the streets and holding hands in unity for fifteen minutes this afternoon.
"We have seen so much of hatred and bloodshed in our city that we will not give in to terror and to those who preach war, violence, hatred and intolerance," activist Jatin Desai said.
"The citizens have come together to keep Mumbai a city that is peaceful and united and to build a world based on the principles of tolerance and peace, equality and justice," he said.
The long chains running across the island city extend to the eastern and western suburbs.
One route of the chain was from Nariman House to Oberoi Trident Hotels, via 4th Pasta Lane, Free Press Road and NCPA.
The second route was along the west side of Oberoi Trident Hotels to S V Road, via Metro Junction, Kemps Corner, Worli Naka and Mahim causeway.
The third route started from Nariman House to S V Road, via Hutatma Chowk, CST, Crawford Market, Byculla Flyover, Dadar TT, Sion Circle, and Mahim causeway.

Why is Mumbai only organizing these, I wish to see the same in other cities. If we really think the attack was on India, rather than only Mumbai, then we all must be a part of it. Any single human being cannot start such a movement, organizations must come ahead and get people united, I am sure there is a great mass waiting to be a part of this in other parts of India.
