Bollywood heartthrob Sanjay ‘Munnabhai’ Dutt was on Thursday named as Samajwadi Party’s nominee for contesting the upcoming Lok Sabha polls from the prestigious Lucknow constituency.While announcing his candidature, party general secretary Amar Singh said, “Dutt told me you are like my elder brother. He said he would do anything I ask him to though he said he was not a political person.”
However, Amar said that if Sanjay was disallowed from contesting the elections because of the criminal cases against him, the party would move the Election Commission or the Supreme Court. Incidentally, Sanjay’s sister Priya is already a Lok Sabha member from Mumbai

It is very strange.....his family is loyal to congress party, his father was congress MP. and at present his sister is also congress MP.His tainted past is going to make it tough ride for him.

I disagree and don't see anything strange in it. Sanjay , whatever his past is , a grown up man. He may have his own openions and views. He need not follow the believes of his father or family as a rule. In some ways this is refreshing to see that people listen to their heart and break the stereotypes.
The political stance of this particular party is good or bad is a different ballgame altogether though.Don't you agree?
