Murdered for Being Themselves: Gay American Heroes

All people who live honestly about their sexual orientation or gender
identity are heroic, as it takes great strength and courage to face the
daily struggles for personal freedom in the face of enormous opposition;
to ultimately give their life for said freedom makes them-- HEROES.

"Gay American Heroes" is dedicated to all Gay, Lesbian, Bi-sexual and Transgender people who lost their lives for having the courage (and right) to live authentically.  "Gay American Heroes" speaks for itself...their voices have not been silenced due to the efforts of Scott Hall, Founder and President of the Gay American Heroes Foundation who, upon learning of 25 year old Ryan Skipper's brutal slaying in Winter Haven, Florida in March 2007, felt compelled to bring attention to gay-related Hate Crimes occurring across America, noting that Matthew Shepard was not the only, or the last, Gay American to be brutally murdered for having the courage to be himself.

I agree - living with yourself and loving yourself just the way you are is a very heroic thing to do.
