How can two apparently intelligent people, Muslims, one a PhD Student, the other a Masters of Engineering student in this day and age think all is well with the Koran.
The husband upon taking a single psychology course becomes a self professed Dr. Phil on Psychology and states his wife is schizophrenic and proceeds to beat her constantly, with one beating as she came home from the hospital after delivering their 2nd child.

Certainly our Laws and Cultural norms in Canada were quite apparent to this man before he even set foot on Canadian Soil, there is no excuse for his actions, after all he is educated, perhaps just not educated in the ways of humanity and spousal abuse when his Holy Book instructs him otherwise.

If Canada really and honestly wishes to accomodate and respect Multicultures and Diversity of other Cultures, especially when these Cultures pick and choose Laws as they see fit and disregard our own laws in favour of their own religious laws, I think we should make a special case just for those who flout our laws in favour of their laws when convicted of crimes in our country.

In the name of Lefty Nancy Multiculturalism and Diversity imposed by ethnic vote grubbing Liberal politicians who wish us to be more understanding and accommodating of these insane and violent cultural laws which circumvent our Canadian Laws, I propose the following in keeping with these cultures. If they are caught stealing, lets start lopping off their hands, if they beat or kill their spouses, lets start whipping them and if a murderer or rapist lets start beheading them immediately. Why not? Are we not respecting their MultiCulture and Diversity in doing so? This way, these criminals cannot pick and choose to hurt and kill under their religious and cultural laws, and then pick and choose our Peaceful and Humane Canadian Laws upon Conviction in order to get off scott free. One Rule, One Law, whichever offence you commit on behalf of your cultural beliefs, the punishment under your archaic religious and cultural laws would apply, just for you, including immediate beheading, somehow I think these criminals would do a double take if this came into effect. Policitians though,wanting to lay on their white pink bellies in accomodating Multicultural and Diversity would be forced to comply with the bad part as well as the good, and they too would not be allowed to pick and choose laws to suit on the criminals behalf.

We don't need no stinking Judge or Jury. Because you see, my proposal would be in line with their countries cultural and religious beliefs, as stated in their Koran, Bible, Torah, TV Guide, Comic Book etc .... thereby Canada would be in extra special compliance with their Multicultural Beliefs. Canada would also be seen as a World leader as most accommodating in their Multicultural and Diversity laws, because let's face it, they prefer their laws over ours, and do whatever they want, let's give it to em with both Swords. Immigrants and Canadians cannot pick and choose what laws they wish to follow in order to do whatever they want and use their culture as an excuse.

We are a Nation of one Cultural Law, a Canadian Culture and Canadian Laws, you cannot choose your Cultural Laws over ours and still live in Canada!

My Final Thought

The Koran, Bible, Torah and other Holy books all have violent references and passages which espouse that women be subservient or suffer the consequences. It can be safely surmised that these passages were written by ancient clueless and frustrated Old Farts, whose misinterpretation of their Holy Master, whether it be God, Christ, Mohamed, Moses etc.... were totally out to lunch. I put it this way these prophets didn't state any of this, Why do I know this? Well it is safe to say they all had mothers, older bullying sisters, grandmothers etc... and you just know if the Mothers thought their sons were teaching violence against women, they immediately would go into "WTF mode" and "Open a Can of Bitch Slap" on their Sons, regardless that they were powerful prophets or gods.

In todays society it would be nice to think we have evolved, and ancient teachings, especially allowing beating your wife certainly has no place in a modern society whatever the interpretation.

Perhaps, it is High Time, in our Multicultural and Diversity gone wrong society, that a mandatory course in the immigrants country on humanities and our laws with a lengthy written exam should be a prerequisite for any immigrant before they even leave their country for Canada be administered, in order for these Immigrants to make an informed decision whether or not Canada conflicts with their religious and cultural beliefs. This way once in Canada and in the event of contravening our laws, excuses such as my MultiCultural Diversity crap babble or Koran, Torah, Bible States....... will certainly not wash when in front of a judge who is pledged to ensure Canadian rights Trump others wacko Bizzaro rights on religious doctrine mandated during the Dark Ages.

Guilty for beating devout Muslim wife

A judge said she had to consider "cultural and religious norms" in convicting a man whose devout Muslim wife kept returning to him even after he beat her the day after she gave birth.

Justice Dianne Nicholas yesterday convicted Ahmed Abada, 31, of assaulting his wife four times -- once causing bodily harm -- and threatening to kill her.

He'll be sentenced in July.

"She was new to this country and a devout Muslim," Nicholas noted in her written decision. "I attach little significance to the fact that she kept returning to the apartment he had been throwing her out of during this incident.

"She has testified that the Koran gives permission to a husband to beat his wife," Nicholas continued. "I accept that she is a deeply religious Muslim woman who lives her life according to the Koran." The court heard that Abada, a PhD candidate, and his wife, a master's student in engineering, met online and he brought her from Egypt.

She testified during the five-day trial to a string of assaults in just over a year, beginning after the birth of their first child.

On the first occasion, he beat her and threw her out barefoot in the winter and without the hijab she wears whenever outside.

In another, he hit and punched her when she returned home after the birth of their second child.

BULLYING CLAIMS

The judge found Abada argumentative and volatile. She dismissed his claim that he was defending himself against a bullying wife he "diagnosed" as schizophrenic after a single psychology course.

The complainant, meanwhile, was thoughtful, subdued -- not vindictive -- and withstood vigorous cross-examination, Nicholas said.

The woman testified that her husband controlled the money, including her student loans, and she has no family here.

The woman was afraid her children would be taken by the CAS and she'd be deported if she called police.

"This is a case where the cultural and financial restraints that this Muslim woman lived with are critical to the analysis of the evidence," Nicholas wrote.

"You simply cannot expect her to feel that she had the same self-autonomy that one might expect from an equally educated North American woman."

Judges must be sensitive to cultural differences in these difficult cases, she said.

"Abada may well have believed that it was his right to beat his wife," Nicholas wrote. "Whatever those cultural differences may be, and regardless of the dictates of the Koran, it is settled law in this country that the intentional application of force without consent constitutes an assault.

"The law applies to all residents."
