Muslims across the world morn the death of Khadijeh bint Khuwaylid, wife of Prophet Mohammad and one of the greatest supporters of Islam.

Khadijeh, known in her time for her strength, modesty, and compassion toward the disadvantaged, died on the 10th day of the holy month of Ramadan at the age of 65.

Khadijeh was very skilled in the art of trade by which she made her fortune. This led to her acquaintance with Mohammad (PBUH), also well-known for being trustworthy and honest.

Compelled by Mohammad's reputation and brilliance, Khadijeh defied the tradition and proposed marriage to a man.  After marrying the Prophet when she was 40, Khadijeh spent the rest of her life assisting her husband. In the last 25 years of her life Khadigeh dedicated her vast fortune to Islam and stood by Mohammad (PBUH) through the hardships and oppression he and his followers endured. The Holy Prophet remembered Khadijeh with great love and respect after her death and said, 'Khadijeh was the best gift God ever gave me. When I was in need of aid, she was at my side and took my hand with love. She had faith in me when the entire world opposed me. She validated me when all others rejected my word and she gave me my child'.
Kahdijeh was known for her compassion toward those in need before and after her marriage. Her doors were always open to the hungry and downtrodden; orphans sought refuge in her home. FBA/JG/MMN. Source at PressTV
