Mussoorie Elections: Record breaking Corruption in last 5 years, Says,Bahuguna

Mahavir Bahuguna  is the contestant for President on Bhajun Samaj Party ticket in upcoming municipal council elections.B.S.P is a party popular among dalits and weaker section of the society. Mayawati the firebrand chief minister, Uttar Pradesh as its head.

Bahujan Samaj Party does not have a strong presence in the hill state of Uttarakhand

due to the large upper caste voter, base. However the Party has changed its tactics during last Uttar Pradesh where it Dalit-Brahmin combine struck gold by giving the party thumping majority.

Bahujan Samaj Party is looking to make inroads in the upper caste vote bank that has traditionally been strong hold of Indian National Congress and Bhartiya Janata Party (B.J.P) respectively in the hill sate of Uttarakhand eyeing on next Lok Sabha elections.

Mahavir Prasad Bhaguna outlined his plans to develop the town in an interview for nowpublic.com.

I began by asking him his reason of joining Bahujan Samaj Party

Azzayindia: What are the reasons for joining Bahujan Samaj Party?

Bhaguna: Well to start with, Bhen Mayawati has impressed all, as an administrator .She knows how to run a government. Her government in Uttar Pradesh has been doing an able job. Secondly, the party has become “Sarvajan” from “Bhajun” including all sections of society be it upper caste, lower caste, Muslims or weaker sections of society.

Azzayindia: Why did you choose to contest for the post of president?

Well the appalling state of affairs in the previous tenure president Man Mohan Singh Mall and party workers belief is the main reason for contesting this time.

Azzayindia: Man Mohan Singh Mall has said in media that record breaking development has happened during his reign as a president. What are your views on that?

Bahuguna: Well record breaking corruption is the only development that has happened during his tenure.

Azzayindia: How can you say that?

Bahuguna: The F.I.R. lodged against Man Mohan Singh Mall for embezzlement of funds is a proof in itself.

Azzayindia: But his supporters are of the view that whole exercise is just to tarnish his image?

Bahuguna: “There is no smoke without fire”: the revenue official must be having some evidence to carry on with the charges.

Azzayindia: Is their any personal grievance against the president?

Bhaguna: Not at all. If you take a general survey, you will find that people are angry about his tenure; rampant corruption was the order of the day during his reign as president. The common man feels cheated. Nepotism was the part of his governance. Floundering tax payers’ money on his near and dear ones was the only work he has undertaken.

Azzayindia: If elected what roadmap will you and your party follow?

Bhaguna: I will work under the party guidelines and would assure the public of Mussoorie that all sections of the society will be incorporated in the development of the town. I will adhere to secular approach without any regionalism. There will be concerted effort in involving the poorest of poor, as they are the main sufferers. The priority will be given to problems of street lights, damaged roads, water, sanitation and unemployment.

Mahavir Prasad Bahuguna appealed to the voters to come out in large number on the 19th April and change the course of the town by overthrowing the corrupt President by casting their ballot in favor of the Elephant the symbol of his party.

It is to note that Man Mohan Sing Mall who fought independently is a candidate of Indian National Congress Party.

Well who will sit on the coveted post only time will tell.
