"My response to President Obama's healthcare support request"
Arnie Sherr wrote: This morning President Obama requested my support for his healthcare plan. Within his e-mail he asked that I write my feelings on the subject as ammunition to support his initiative when presented to the Congress. Here are my feelings…
“I am a Vietnam era Veteran whose long time wisdom, like the President's only for a longer time, has seen the coming of what I have coined originally as an ‘economic tsunami.’ It didn’t take genius to recognize the impending social devastations that were soon to overtake the world. My son, who is now age 41, and I have had many discussions about not only the effects of rising healthcare costs, but the banking, mortgage and credit crisis as it has evolved. In my heart of hearts I believe both sides of the isle and the past three administrations were as aware as I, but chose their own greedy motives as distractions from what was and is best for those living on main street. Both houses are consumed with outdated theories and ancient ideologies owned and still embraced by career politicians like Arlen Specter who can’t recognize when to quit. God bless Ted Kennedy as I love him dearly, but his reign should have made way for younger and more youthful leadership many years ago.
Mr. President, healthcare reform is but one small sliver of reality in our country’s striving for rebirth. History has demonstrated over and over, countries that for whatever reasons give-up or abandon their manufacturing base are destined to collapse. That too is another huge concern. What discourages me is both sides don’t understand the impending ramifications. They seem bent or debating deficits and salvation spending. President Obama, I voted for you because I know your vision is as mine. Fix it first then worry about the costs. If we don’t fix it now, <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 />America may loose its might; it’s global presence and will be reduced to a minuscule world entity.
We must fix healthcare, bring back America’s manufacturing industries and proceed with fair trade. We sir, are loosing the fight to China, India, Middle East oil leverage and soon to the re-rise of Russia through its growing oil production. While we promote nuclear reduction other countries like Pakistan and Iran strive for nuclear proliferation.
President Obama, let me speak to the Congress and the Senate. Their immature bickering are distracting America from what is important. When will they remove their blinders?”
Rush Limbaugh and our shameful ex-Vice President are bent on driving party divisiveness farther apart. Illuminating the Pelosi incident is cause to denigrate left wing agenda by distracting the media and the public from important issues.
Pelosi accused the CIA of misleading; even lying to the Congress. How short are our memories? Not only did President Bush and Dick Cheney mislead the Congress about Iraqi WMD’s, so did the CIA. The reality is that both the CIA and the Bush administration were and still would not be compelled to present the Congress with “raw intelligence.” Their presentations are verbal and may be structured to bias a desired result, as was the case over driving the Congress to support War in Iraq. Of course, now the CIA stands as pure of never breaking or bending our laws. Since when did the “law” prevent its breaking when political motivations were alive, strong, and well?
I leave it to you. Listening to the garbage permeating the media and the aged political cashocrats leaves me feeling “misrepresented.” What do you tell your children when they argue rather that seek common ground; compromise? Forget that; like your kids, they know not its meaning.
