N. Korea destroys nuclear tower

YONGBYON, North Korea - North Korea destroyed the most visible symbol of its nuclear weapons program Friday, blasting apart the cooling tower at its main atomic reactor in a sign of its commitment to stop making plutonium for atomic bombs.

An explosion at the base of the cylindrical structure sent the tower collapsing into a cloud of white and grey smoke that billowed into blue skies as journalists and diplomats looked on, according to video footage filmed by broadcaster APTN at the site.

The demolition of the 20-metre-tall tower is a response to U.S. concessions after the North delivered a declaration Thursday of its nuclear programs to be dismantled.

good stuff:

Barry Artiste, I like this story. It's good stuff. I guess the strategy of getting China to pressure North Korea worked.

I uploaded a crazy video of the explosion: check it out!

This is great news! For a while, I totally thought North and the South were going to start a nuclear war.

I wish that is not an other distracting movement. Good news so far!

Sorry for taking so long to reply , Thanks everyone for your comments, the last day or so, the Now Public software would not allow me to comment again on my own stories. Apparently I needed to "Choose a Field" to reply in my comment section.
