North Korea at it again. Flexing the mussles once again, the country clearly warned against any attempts by Japan or US to shoot down the satelite launch that is scheduled to lauch in this weekend.

SEOUL: North Korea's military threatened on Thursday to attack "major targets" in Japan if Tokyo tries to shoot down a satellite it intends to  launch as soon as this weekend.

"If Japan recklessly 'intercepts' the DPRK's (North's) satellite for peaceful purposes, the KPA will mercilessly deal deadly blows not only at the already deployed intercepting means but at major targets," said a statement from the Korean People's Army (KPA).

Japan, South Korea and the United States see the North's plan to launch a communications satellite some time between April 4 and 8 as a disguised test of a Taepodong-2 ballistic missile which could in theory reach Alaska or Hawaii.

That is just the next step in this madness. It is escalating at a very fast paste.

We'll have to see if Hawaii and Alaska are put on standby by the Administration...

North Korea blustering again (I hope and presume...). They blow up the wind and then try to sail along in its little gusts extracting some cash aid and concessions from their threats.

2 major sources of revenue for N.K are dying out: Falling remittances home from profits out of Pachinko Parlours (quasi-legal gambling venues run almost exclusively by the Korean "mob" here in Japan) that are are closing drastically as the "lost decade" morphs into a depression here, and slumps in the sales of "Shabu" (a version of crystal methamphetamine imported from N.K) that was already being displaced by (inferior quality) Chinese importers. (No - I don't use it...)

So what are they gonna do? Float across the Sea of Japan in a couple of dinghies and a canoe? I think both the Chinese and Japan are begging for N.K. to try something... They are a burden on the Chinese and a hated annoyance to the Japanese (yes, racism is a large component). South Korea and America would be well served too. N.K. knows this of course and so I predict they will do nothing (as usual).
