NADRA ( National Database and Registration Authority ) claim to be one of the most succesful project in the modern history of Pakistan.

But few days ago, i got a chance to visit NADRA's office in karachi with a friend of mine who wished to renew his expired id card. There i found out that what public complain about the difficulties faced by them in achieving new id card, is really toughest procedure.

My Friend's Experience = " I will never ever come again to renew my id card " comments by him as he tried to renew and to update his residential address as a responsible and educated citizen of ( Karachi ) Pakistan. " It took more then 3 days running here and there bringing out the various kind of documents, attestation by only specific persons of that that grade and after fulfilling all their requirements and procedure, the day they asked me to collect the id card, when i reached at the destination i was greeted by that i could not receive my card as due to some kind of conflict in new and old residential addresses " ...... So again bring those documents and do this and that ..... the same home documents i showed them first day, again this time they verified and accepted ..... now do this and that ! As a result of all this confused nadra's procedure he chanhed his mind to apply to renew his id card and change of address.

The very interesting mistake i observed on the first day visit at nadra's office karachi , was an elderly lady cusing and yelling at the Nadra's staff and authorities, as after paying the urgent fees and even telling everything during the form filling procedure ( This form is filled by the nadra staff , along with the recent photo snap on time ), she was complaining that after wasting time and energy, what Nadra's so called highly qualified educated and trained staff wrote in her form :-

Currently Residing With : Husband

As a result when she went to attest her form, the form was rejected and that lady was really angry at Nadra's staff " This is the responsibility and care the senior citizens and elderly lady deserve in Islamic Sultanat Of Pakistan ( Islamic Republic Of Pakistan ) ". Further she commented," this is like many others biggest failed projects in the history of Pakistan ". Thank to that lady who allowed me to capture this interesting mistake snap and to share with world.

But over all such minor mistakes really create anger and frustration among people, as they try to perform their responsibility as a responsible citizen, but when they face too many problems, confusions and misguidance by the concerned departments, they change their mind to further struggle.

Time waisting Tactics are being used in all the offices where there is publc

dealing is involved.Its a passport Office,Property Registeration Office,

Courts,PIA Office when you are rescheduling your travel, problems

are being created deliberatly to extract money.So what is the solution?

Either you give the money (bribery) to expedite your legitimate case ,which is a SIN or ask the dealing person to give in writting what are the problems which can be fixed once for all. I have used these procedures with very much sucess.Beacuse they wont give in writting to star with

hmm, very alarming bit of news for me !

as i was thinking of geting my CNIC renewed cause of same reason ! :S

Not Everyone Have To Face Such Problems In ' Achieving Or Renewing ' The CNIC, But Sometimes Few Have To Face Some Hurdles. Good Luck For Your Aims, Life And Future.

my wife need a fresh cnic for hajj. she submit all the details on 9/8/2008 nadra has given the date to ask after 15 to 20 days on urgent.

i told to nadra staff that last date of submitting cnic for hajj is 18/8/2008 but unfortunately nobody responses. now i am waiting for the delivery of cnic

Golden Were The Times And Lucky Were Those People Of Old Times, Who First Of All Can Perform Haj Without Facing Any Troubles ..... But Unfortunately ( In Pakistan ) The Government Raised The Hajj Fares Too Much, Or Better Say Unbearable To Afford ..... But, Those Who Luckily Like Your Mrs. Who Is Blessed By God To Perform Haj, NADRA Is Acting Weird Like A Devil ..... I Can Only Pray That May The Problem You Are Facing In Requiring CNIC Should Be Solved As Soon As Possible !

i am one of the victim of nadra khi

story as follows

i sundered my preivous card NO :42301-11003885 to the concern departmant for correction mistaken by the revalant office that is date of birth and received the letter from concern authority under ref No: hqs-ibd/ops-11/veri/05/comp/m-160 cnic S-97 dated 15-04-2008 from head office Islamabad dully singed by for) general manager Mr.Narir Ahmed to contact local office for further detail have visited may time but no action has been taken as yet by the good working officer from top to bottom and check after 10 days after 10 days.

so i pray to god to listen my arrgument and relive me from any more azab from the concern department .

the system to get NIC is a bullshit...

i need to get my pasport nd i dont have much time.

but when i visited NADRA office to get my ID card..i saw that people are standing in cues for hourz but htere is no progress ..

i also stood there for 3 hours but i could not get my tokken for ID card..

there was a board out side the office and it waz written THAT "if u dont want to stand for hours in a cue..just give 1000rs and take ur tokken argently.."

and the staff waz preffering only those , who were carriyng 1000 rs..

i live in johar town LAHORE,,..and i visited the township branch of NADRA.

After reading all the comments made by the citizens of pakistan above, I do not believe that Pakistan is living in a 2009 year.. they are still living in the 16th Centuary!

I am so disgusted with the Pakistani system.. i mean from making NADRA cards to pakistani passport.. to every document you have to go to an office for.. it is like going through hell to get anything done in pakistan, and yet they call them selves MUSLIMS!. The world is moving forward and making quantum dvelopments and striving forward with improvements in every sphere of life. But Pakistan is making sure it goes BACKWARDS as much as is possible.

I am a pakistani living in UK, but at the moment I am so disgusted with the authorities in pakistan, that I do not tell people that I am a pakistani becuase i feel ashamed. I would rather call my self an INDIAN! all this is thanks to our people in pakistan for selecting a coroupt government! and for pakistanis in offices doing everything possible to make peoples lives HELL.

agree nicop is waste of time

my sister apply for nicop they did mistake i told her to print form give to emmbassy she did that wait two years never got card visit so many embassy usa N.Y donrt knew no record says apply new one she apply new on line same mistake

You just apply for change in Gender, Martial Status, Present & Permanent Address then we change only marked fields, if you want change name spell it is therefore requested to you please apply for modification in Name, then your required name will be changed. Online application is closed, so please contact concerned Embassy/Consulate for processing of NICOP/POC.

i did in 2006 it was nicop mistake i wait three years and i paid fee second time i apply last month its again nicop office mistake Embassy had last time contact never got my nicop untill today taht why i apply new so you are saing do same mistake TO GIVE THEM MY NICOP forget like last time this is no way to do correct its your office mistake secound time and i knew if i go to newyork emmbassy again i will lose my nicop ...its not my mistake its your office mistake i am not changing spelling its nadara printing office mistake so why i go to hassale again so please if its not going to look ofter i will farward my concern to chairman so its not solutaion i did last time i never got my nicop why should i do same mistake so please tell other way i think nicop should print my card correct spelling send me other then that i go to embassy,....

Dear Sir

I have applied for change of address and English version of NIC from NADRA office Peshawar on 6-6-09 .I paid 3000 rupees on so called fast track and I was being told to collect my ID card after one week.Today I went to NADRA office and stood two hours in a que at the last when I reached the window, reply was in no and they told me to come after one month.

I have to go abroad after two weeks ,I dont know what to do.This fast track is only for the collection of money, we need faster delivery of the card all other things are only show off.
