In the name of… American sells his surname for $45,500
In an effort to distance himself from his folk's divorce, American Jason Sadler decided to leave his family name in a stranger's hands. Sadler sold the right to chose his new surname to the highest bidder, clinching a cool $45,500 in the process.
"I just saw an opportunity – my mom is going through a divorce and I don't need this last name anymore," Sadler told CNN. "I thought 'How am I going to find a new last name?' well 'Why not just sell it?'"
