Two candidates in the Nassau County of New York state -- Democrat Thomas Suozzi and Republican Edward Mangano will have to wait until all the absentee, affidavit and emergency ballots are counted to call the winner in the Nassau County Executive race. Right now, Suozzi is in the lead with Mangano trailing by 237 votes, a minuscule difference that made the race razor-close. It is estimated that 16,000 other votes are still to be counted, but the final results might not be known until after a month.

Over 235,000 votes were cast on Tuesday and, according to the Nassau Board of Elections, Suozzi holds the lead with just 237 votes.
But the true victor may not be determined for weeks as thousands of absentee ballots still need to be counted.
While Suozzi holds the slight lead, he cautioned his supporters to hold their victory celebration, saying "it is [the election] going to go back and forth and everyone is going to be battling over the absentee ballots, the affidavit ballots, the re-counts... but you know what, we're going to win this thing."
