National conformity by Computer - good or bad?.

While PM Brown promotes a SPEND, SPEND, SPEND culture Councils are adopting a SAVE, SAVE, SAVE culture in promoting services using technology by way of Computer Software and call centres. Historically paper offices existed based upon people systems providing jobs, responsibility and accountability but given the now volatile situation of short term contracts on the tide of change as the result of financial ups and downs are we all to become slaves to computer based systems which provide conformity as to input and having no regard to people?. People must now fit into database record field categories awaiting Council Networking to fascilitate people movement and tracking. What is to happen should energy become a problem?. Obviously Data locked into Databases to which no access be allowed may create a big problem in meeting the needs of those whom have pay taxes to fund such mechanisms but what measures are in place should such events occur?.
If cashless Societies existed to which there was no power for ATM machines and Banking what precisely are people to do in having absolutely nothing in their pockets?.
Is the Government right to apply a "ONE EQUATION FITS ALL" mentality given its decision making on selective computer generated data so affecting millions within Societies?.
