NATO will assist Georgia in seven directions – Robert Simons, the special representative of NATO to Georgia , stated the following after his meeting with Giorgi Bakradze , the chairman of the Parliament of Georgia.
As Robert Simons stated the chairman of the Parliament of Georgia reported him over the situation existing in Georgia and over the ways NATO can assist the country.
Robert Simons underlined that the main target of NATO is the borders of Georgia ,respectively the territorial integrity of Georgia to be honored..
‘Today, on this stage, Russia’s troops withdrawal is very important. Everything must be done in order the territorial integrity of Georgia to be protected.’ – The special representatives said.
Robert Simons remarked that NATO remains as a main partner of Georgia and will assist Georgia to conduct concrete operations. According to the decision of the Ministerial of NATO the special Commission - NATO – Georgia will be created. Robert Simons said that this fact is already a concrete step.
The special representative did not define concretely what 7 directions imply but underlined that these actions will help Georgia to restore the self-defense capacity.
