Anti-NATO riots in Strasburg

The NATO summit meeting in the French city of Strasburg was accompanied by two days of extensive rioting in the city.  Anti - NATO protesters blocked roads and set on fire several buildings including a hotel. French police used tear gas, water cannons and rubber bullets in attempts to disperse demonstrators and made hundreds of arrests during the three day summit this week.

Others choose a more peaceful form of protest and danced naked in the streets in order to show their opposition to NATO's intervention in Afghanistan.

The leaders the military alliance were in France to celebrate the 60th anniversay of the founding of the organisation and to discuss its role in the ongoing Afghanistan campaign.
