Navajos and Hopis protested Peabody Coal in 2008. The US ignored the protest and issued Peabody a life-of-mine permit to expand coal mining on Black Mesa in Arizona, which could lead to more relocation of Navajos. Already 14,000 Navajos have been relocated as Peabody destroys the land, air and water. Photo Mano Cockrum, used with permission.

Im so proud of my Hopi people standing up for their rights and having a voice to be heard. I know that we are going to face alot of issue like this in the future. After the government has used up their resources through out America, they are going to start trying to go on the reservations and Native land.
