NB girl, 15, charged with 1st-degree murder in senior's stabbing

A fifteen year old girl is being charged with 1st degree of a 78 year old man. the stabbing occured Friday night, June 5. The Girl has been remanded into custudy. The Name of the victim has not been released, The accused is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice act. Investigation is still under way.

"Let's say further news will probably come out later on, but for this moment, I would like to keep it as such for the moment."

Tremblay did say the teen was not related to the victim.

The girl has been remanded in custody until her court appearance in Hampton on Wednesday afternoon.

A 15-year-old southern New Brunswick girl has been charged with first-degree murder after a 78-year-old man was found dead in his Damascus home on Friday night.

RCMP Sgt. Claude Tremblay said an autopsy determined that the elderly man died of a stab wound.

But he said police will release few other details.

"I cannot divulge how it started or how it all happened. The investigation is not over yet. The investigators have not tied all the elements all together," Tremblay said.

"Let's say further news will probably come out later on, but for this moment, I would like to keep it as such for the moment."

I don't quite understand how the Crown has enough on this girl to charge her with 1st degree. there should be more news to come.
