NDP Surges ahead in Polls- Ipsos Poll suggests
Over the past week, an IPSOS Reid poll suggests that, the New Democratic Party has risen by 3% in popularity. They now have 19% approval rating up from16%.
The Conservative Party slipped by 3% to 37%, while the Liberals slipped 1% to 23%.
This may be influenced by the latest accusations of a cover up in the handling of Afghan prisoners. A senior Diplomat (Colvin) has accused senior department heads and perhaps the PMO of coverup and turning a blind eye to prisoner abuse in Afghan prisons. These prisoners were supposedly handed over to Afghan authorities by Canadian troops.
The Liberals, under Michael Ignatieff, continue to slip in the polls.
Allegations of Prisoner Torture
The federal New Democratic Party has vaulted to levels of voter approval not seen since before the last federal election, as Canada's two major parties struggle to hold support, suggest findings of a poll released Friday.
The NDP surged six percentage points to 19% support nationally, according to results of an Ipsos Reid poll, commissioned by Canwest News Service and Global National.
Prime Minister Stephen Harper's ruling Conservatives fell three points to 37%, shy of the 40% typically seen as a level needed to land a majority government. Michael Ignatieff's Liberals garnered 24% of support among respondents, a drop of one percentage point from late October.
The Liberals' steady descent has them almost at the same depths as in December of last year, when former leader Stephane Dion's call for a coalition government sat uneasily with a majority of Canadians. A poll taken Dec. 3 suggested the Liberals' support had dipped to 23%.

Naw I doubt that. It will depend on the outcome of the prisoner handling. NDP will not likely make it nationally though.

I would bet it does have something to do with the handling of the Afghan prisoners.
