Nepal’s Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal (Prachanda) has requested national and international communities to help the Koshi flood victims for their food, shelter and clothing.

Latest reports state that about 60 thousand people living close to the Koshi River embankments have been displaced.

In the meantime, President Ram Baran Yadav has attributed the Koshi flood disaster to the unequal treaties that Nepal signed with India.

The Nepalis living in Indo-Nepal border areas have repeatedly complained that Indians, with the help of their border security forces, have so far captured thousands of hectares of land belonging to the Nepalis. But the Local Indian administration has denied it.

The Nepalis complain that many dams unilaterally constructed by the Indian side have caused floods that displace thousands of Nepalis every year.
