Students on Monday protested against what they called the border encroachment by India in Nepal's Pashupatinagar in Ilam district. Students affiliated to the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) organized the protest in the capital on Monday. Student leader Lekhnath Neupane expressed his wrath against the government and all the political parties that have remained indifferent to the border encroachment.

As Indo-Nepal border areas have not been scientifically demarcated after the East India Company quit India in 1947, both Nepal and India do have deep-seated differences regarding the bilateral border issues.

Nepal's 26 districts out of 75 border India.
