Nestle is releasing its new instant coffee drink that contains collagen and is advertised to be a major wrinkle buster. Nestle claims the product contains collagen, a protein responsible for skin strength and elasticity. The name of the product is not being disclosed. The drink has only been sold in Singapore so far.

However, the drink has medical professionals doubtful. Collagen is not a particularly stable protein, so it is likely to degrade as soon as it gets exposed to the acid in the stomach. Besides, it is not clear what effect combining collagen with coffee powder will have.

The collagen drink idea is similar to the oxygenated water concept. The makers of oxygenated water claim that the extra oxygen contained in water will act as an anti-oxidant to enhance people's health. In reality, humans receive very little oxygen through digestive system. Most of the oxygen comes in through lungs and skin, so the benefit is marginal.

Hopefully, this product reaches it's full potential. The blind will hear, the lame will see, the deaf will walk, all will be fully awake.

Would not buy anything made by Nestle's, except their chocolate bits because they seem to be one of the few who make them, but given a choice I will other brands. : (

Great, now at least I can have wrinkle free skin to go with my stained brown teeth.

There must be a great demand for Collagen since Nestle is adding it to their coffee now, some what like the Omega 3 added to chicken feed so one can sale the eggs at a higher price.

Whether or not this does have a positive or eventually even a negative long term impact to human health is still out in the open.

However I do doubt that any thing from Nestle can be healthy for the consumer and the impact this company is having on the Earth over all is rather negative, why one should not even buy any thing from Nestle or their affiliated companies.
