On March 26th 2010, The ROKS Cheonan, a Pohang-class corvette of the Republic of Korea Navy was sunk. This class of ship was designed for coastal defense and anti-submarine warfare(ASW), and Republic of Korea(south) officials have announced that the Cheonan was sunk by a North Korean submarine. The Democratic People's Republic of Korea(north) denies any involvement.

Reuters and a South Korean news agency Yonhap News, have reported that ROK officials said, "The metallic debris and chemical residue appear to be consistent with a type of torpedo made in Germany, indicating the North may have been trying to disguise its involvement by avoiding arms made by allies China and Russia.". They identified the torpedo as German made. Further comparrison of this torpedo on display and German DM2 series torpedoes, show that the torpedo supposedly fired by the North may very well be a DM2A3 or DM2A4 heavyweight torpedo. The DM2 series is made in Germany for export to countries including, Norway, Israel, Portugal, Spain, Greece, and South Korea.

The Republic of Korea Navy operates Type 214 submarines, also built and exported from Germany. This class of submarine uses these 533mm DM2A3 and DM2A4 torpedoes.

North Korea's Korean People's Navy operates a submarine fleet of ex-Soviet and Chinese Romeo-class and Whiskey-class submarines. All of these subs were built in the 1950's and Early 1960's, use Soviet and Chinese designed torpedoes and do not use German made weaponry.

So, if it is admitted that a German torpedo like those used in South Korea's navy was used to sink Cheonan, Then who is implicated? The North does not possess these weapons or the technology to use them, but the South does have them and does use them.

Wayne Madsen: Japan real target of Korea attack

The Gulf of Tonkin Incident started a war that cost 58,000 American and over 2 million Vietnamese civilian lives. It was later admitted by the National Security Agency and former Secretary of Defense Robert Macnamara that the Gulf of Tonkin Incident didn't really happen.

This current situation between South and North Korea, echoes the situation created by the Gulf of Tonkin Incident between the United States and North Vietnam. This has the potential to be exploited into war between the two Koreas. US forces in Japan and Okinawa can expect to stay longer as a result as well.

The federal Government is the head of the U.S. & the People are the body. Only when the head is able to control the body, does the head get to move the body. When the body shuts down & refuses to move, then the head is stuck with no power & no ability. If the U.S. government decides to drag us into war, they are doing it to divert our attention away from their misuse of our political & economic systems. They want us to have a common enemy in North Korea, or Iran, in order to take our attention off of their abuses. I've seen this coming ever since the economic collapse of 08' & now that they are taking the steps to start a war, I'm fairly convinced that this is their plan. DO NOT sign up to fight this war, if they decide to reinstate the draft, DO NOT submit to it & no matter what DO NOT take your attention off of the Federal Governments illegal (Unconstitutional) misuse of power! We have no right trying to straighten up someone else's mess, when our own mess is so apparent & is not being cleaned up, or dealt with!! As Americans & as a Constitutional Republic, our countries Founders & Framers never meant for us to submit to our Government. The Government was structured & put in place to submit to us, or We The People.

Thank you for posing all of the questions you did about this story--we suspect that many people in South Korea are thinking along similar ideas, and are even more concerned than we are about this insane rush to war since they all are at "ground zero".  Friends of ours are temporarily in Seoul, which we learned is one of the "top ten" largest metro areas in the world (!)-- and if a shooting war breaks out they're going to be right in the middle of this mess.  Now we hear that the aircraft carrier "George Washington" is going to be in the Yellow Sea shortly.  Looks like this thing is escalating beyond all reason or belief.  For what it is worth: 1. survivors of the sunk S. Korean warship apparently did NOT see a torpedo: 2. they were (apparently) in shallow waters at the time, therefore, if a torpedo was involved, would it have been particularly visible as it approached??

Thank you for your comment.

It is still possible there was no torpedo at all, and that the torpedo on display is a plant.

But, this story is going off of what the South Koreans have admitted and turns their own admission against their lies.

If the USAs nasty little Dirty Buddy is supplied with these German missals, and had subs off the Iranian coast just days after this assault.....I wonder!!!!

I keep seeing this all over the place and it defies logic.

Yes the Israeli government is just as corrupt and evil as our own, but they aren't involved in every single thing that happens on this earth, there are lots of corrupt governments all over the world who can do these things for themselves. They don't have the motive for this and its half a world away from them. Israel only does things that benefit Israel. They are only one faction out of the hundreds, in the grand scheme of things. The Zionists are only a small portion of The Powers That Be, not the whole of it.

It is way more likely and makes way more sense that South Korea did this to themselves, possibly with the aid of US intelligence, saying Israel did it makes no sense.

What is more plausible? Think about it.

Seriously, start using logic again people. God's greatest gift to humanity is reason. I just wish everyone would start using it again.

The first rule of journalism is that governments lie. Whatever the objective truth of this sinking the obvious fact is that there is a fairly effective and effort by government at constant emotional manipulation. Nothing in this Korean affair is worth dying for.

I added a story about this based on a new article from the Associated Press here:www.opednews.com/articles/Did-U-S-South-Korean-Nava-by-Scott-Baker-100605-420.html#startcommentsOp Ed News is a top 100 blog, and my story is headlined, so maybe we'll get some attention to this travesty of the truth before we blindly march off to war.  Check it out and comment!

Do you want to know that is the most reliable scenario that is supported by lots of South Korean about this accident? If you can translate the article in this link: bbs1.agora.media.daum.net/gaia/do/debate/read?bbsId=D115&articleId=970801  that would be the best. In brief, we believe that a US atomic submarine, Ohaio, was directly involved in this case. Specifically two ASDS (small submarine that were included in the Ohaio). Already our president gave a memo to our Defense Minister during a meeting asking not to mention about "two unvisible vessels". There's too long stroy to explain. If anyone wants to heard in details, please leave a reply here.

The missle was a false flag op -- probably by US SEALS -- designed to keep the US military in Japan. It's no coincidence that the US base in Okinawa was going to be voted out just DAYS after the South Korean vessel sinking...And then, of course, was allowed to stay after the heinous unprovoked incident! Japan's prime minister just resigned over the ordeal...
