President Obama has been pushing for NJ Governor Jon Corzine,  and will have to own the loss if Christie overtakes him:

The New Jersey gubernatorial race is now in "dead heat"  .

Christie may lose regarding property taxes,  labor unions, school funding,   abortion, and gay marriage:  All issues on which his stance is heavily conservative.  Yet the numbers show that none of these issues are contentious enough to have given Corzine a decided lead.  There have been issues with corruption,  and a bad environmental record regarding the incumbent.

President Obama headlined two rallies for New Jersey Gov. Jon Corzine Sunday, pushing to drive up turnout as Republican challenger Chris Christie did the same.

Christie dropped by a get-out-the-vote rally Sunday evening in Republican-heavy Toms River. A crowd of some 400 chanted his name and cheered when he promised to give Corzine a pink slip on Tuesday. Christie was continuing to tour the state by bus.

The New Jersey race is a dead heat. The latest state poll out of Quinnipiac University showed Christie with a 2-point lead over Corzine, but that spread is within the margin of error.

Knowing NJ politics.. a close race leans Democrat.  Every time the GOP looks close in polls and people are hopeful for Change... they get beat by 5-10 points.  I see a 5 point win for the Left.
