Buncefield - Three years on

Phoenix Gateway 'New Waves' Sculpture in blue steel to be unveiled on 11th December 2008, three years on from the Buncefield explosion of the 11th December 2005.

On the aniversary of the massive fire and explosion in December 2005.

Three years on a new Giant blue steel sculpture called 'New Waves' will be unveiled at Breakspear Way Hemel Hempstead Hertfordshire England, only yards from the site of the Buncefield oil depot. The £350,000 sculpture 10m- high has been funded by the East of England Developement Agency and Dacorum Borough Council.

Meanwile Buncefield firms have been charged under Health & Safety laws over the blast and face criminal action.

Victims of the Buncefield blast are still waiting for compensation from the oil companies.

To many the new sculpture may be a reminder of the day they lost their homes as a result of the Buncefield blast in 2005.
