Dave Berkebile's Eyewitness Video from September 11, 2001: Flight 93 Crash Aftermath

CNN's Susan Hendricks introduced new footage of United Flight 93, which crashed into a Pennsylvania field on September 11, 2001 after its passengers rushed the terrorists who had taken over the plane.

The footage was shot by Dave Berkebile of Somerset County, Pennsylvania, who has since died. His family has only now given permission for the footage to be made public.

The video is  a good microcosm of eyewitness reactions on 9/11: what people saw could be verified, but what we were hearing on the radio and television could not. In this case, the man shooting the video is saying that he heard that Flight 93 crashed due to terrorists setting off a bomb.

He was following coverage of the World Trade Center and Pentagon attacks, only to find that his area had become part of the story. (via Mediaite)
