The next OIL Crisis has started!

Now that Oil prises are slowly going down, after some massive spending in wars in Iraq and Afghanistan for a wile the speculator calmed down as news  came of a more stable Iraq and maybe because much of the focus these days has been on the Olympics with rumours and defamation as well as scare tactics to the point that one does no longer know what is actually true and what is plain propaganda!

Well, here comes along the next crisis wile no one really does pay any attention, No not Niger as I reported before, wile the troubles and fighting in Niger goes on with weapons from the USA and China a new war is gaining in dimension and proportion!

One of the World greatest Oil producer, namely Nigeria not to be confused with Niger please! Has some growing and major trouble for some time now, however so far the Government was able to contain it and the rebellion was scattered and disorganised!

That has changed though, since the so called rebels seem to be well armed now and well organised as well, they must have fund a sponsor and some coaching some where!

My guess would be that since Oil is a rather well desired commodity these days and since the Nether Lands, GB, and the USA are the once controlling the oil in Nigeria they would certainly not arm the rebels nor train them even though those rebels do fight for democratic rights and against a rather corrupt and Oppressing Government!

Well, your guess is as good as mine at this point. Nevertheless, the problem has escalated now to the point that MEND (movement of the emancipation of the Niger delta) has managed to paralyse or at least halt the Oil production to the point that one of the biggest Oil companies in Nigeria namely Shell has evoked a special close Called Force Majeure since it can no longer fulfil it obligation as to deliver crude Oil to its costumers in the USA and Europe!

The MEND has succeeded in sabotaging enough oil Pipelines and holding the Nigerian army at bay that the Oil production of Nigeria is about to collapse!

Well, better fill up those tanks now, for next week the Oil prise will most likely go back up!

Hello Cao, Thanks for the read and the Flag here, much appreciated! Better fill up on fuel now before it will go back up! Well should you have a Car or Oil heat that is!

Interesting. But follow the money. Who wants the price of crude oil up the most? Could it be a King? 4,000 Princes? 30,000 family members?

I do not think so Rene, The MEND is all of a sudden  well armed and trained and will or may over throw the Government eventually. The question would be who will lose the Oil Rights and who will gain them with a new Government!??

So who financed them? Who paid for the training? Who actually has the most to gain from disrupting the production there? Who? Broaden your horizons, Paschen.

Where their is no prove or evidence yet, one can only speculate! Who ever vetoed sanction against Zimbabwe would be my best guess!

Speculate! Speculate? Could it be the speculators?

Paschen

No I do not think so Rene, More like super powers going at each other!

However should the speculator be in on it as you say, now that would be some thing and should it come out as such, then it would be the end of Wall Street, at least as we haven known it for the past century!

Paschen, I like this story. It's good stuff.

I think the most important we should focus is the food prices ,it became a serious problem specially in the developing countries, last month a lot of agricultural professionals from all over the world visited our institute ,ther all complained the constant skyrocketing food prices to agree by mere coincidence.i heard part of the reasons is United States utilizes a great deal corns to produce bio-fuel, i insist that the developed countries sustain the high prices on anything instead to threat the existences of people who live in the poor .perhaps my opinion was formed as a result of that i am from developing country,a little selfish but sincere, wish to recept your views

Nice comment Fov, though using corn for bio-fuel is not the main reason food prices are high.  The biggest factor for high food prices is the cost of fuel.  Gas prices in the Midwest U.S. are 300% higher than they were before the Irag fiasco, which directly translates to higher costs for farmers.  Also, I agree that the majority of the burden should be placed on developed countries, but average citizens in places like America can't cough up much more.  Ask anyone in my area making $35-40k USD a year, how much money they have left over to help other people and you will find that it is nearly nothing.  If food and gas prices raise any more here, many people will be faced with deciding if they would like to eat today, or pay their rent.  I am all for having America and other developed countries help developing nations, as long as no more pressure is placed on the "average" citizen.  Instead, we need to be getting to the root of the problem and pull back from the dependence of oil as a primary transportation fuel, while helping developing nations to secure their independence from oil with leadership and knowledge.

A Great Comment Fov, I glad you bring that up!

Food prises do go hand in hand with energy prises and labour cost though!  Why the Farmers are them self poor! Subsides are needed and to be agreed on internationally!

Dumping of Over production from the Western countries has contributed to the destruction of the agricultural sector, especially in so called third World Countries!

Once the Farmers are put out of business it becomes next to impossible to counter a food shortage caused in this cases by two factors, one the production of Methanol Fuel for Cars and two because of Natural disasters in part caused by Climate change or global warming!

It is a long and complex problem that needs more exposure and serious discussions and reflection in order to find long term solution fair for all!

I do not think you are selfish though, well we all are to some extend, how ever I think the West is the one that is far more selfish here and needs to show some good will!

The US walking out on the Trade talk this week does not help any one!

Thanks for your comment and for the Flag here as well! I do appreciate it!

Thanks your reply,i find the success in Doha round is essential now,and the increasing population in developing country is still a  problem ,at this dimention China should deserves  positive praise.any other efforts we should do to achieve more improvement on the food prices predicament?

You are correct the success of the Doha round is vital for all, yet we may have to start another round of talks maybe with a different approach as well!

China is in deed doing a great deal on many fronts, one of them being the over population, other Countries need to do a lot more in that regard or face a certain disaster that will affect the hole world!

I do not think that we can lower food coast any more, we should have been planning for that some 20 or even 40 years ago! Capitalism in its actual form is our main problem, it is to destructive, socially, environmentally, as well as Politically and economically!

We need to regulate Capitalism and restrict it a little bit like China does yet with open democratic directives! Europe used to have a regulated Capitalism as well that worked rather well and fair until the 90th!

Now we seem to have savage capitalism that is very destructive and negative for all but Wall Street!

It is a complex problem and will need may talks and compromises on all sides!
