Nic Robertson Slams Fox News' Libya Human Shield Story- Video
Fox News Human Shield Claim 'A Lie': Nic Robertson
Fox news reported that journalists from CNN, Reuters and the Associated Press were used as human shields at the Gaddafi compound, preventing British jets from bombarding it.
However, a CNN correspondent Nic Robertson blasted Fox News as he talked to Wolf Blitzer, Robertson points out that no Fox News journalists were on the bus to the Gaddafi compound. Nic Robertson was visibly angry, saying that his and other agencies' crews were given short shrift at the Gaddafi compound, and were not used as human shields at all.
The video link above doesn't catch the next part of the report, during which Nic Robertson dismissed Fox News' efforts in Libya, saying, "I never see them in the field, only at breakfast". Several viewers, though, did catch it, and it's now on Youtube. You can watch below how Nic Robertson basically calls out Fox News for lying, saying, "I expect lies from the government here, but I do not expect it from other journalists".
Here is Fox News' report, which was repeated by other outlets.
British sources confirmed that seven Storm Shadow missiles were ready to be fired from a British aircraft, but the strikes had to be curtailed due to crews from CNN, Reuters and other organizations nearby. Officials from Libya's Ministry of Information brought those journalists to the area to show them damage from the initial attack and to effectively use them as human shields.
