Nigeria has filed charges against former US Vice-President Dick Cheney over a scandal involving a former subsidiary of Halliburton energy firm.

The case, brought by the country's anti-corruption agency, centres on engineering firm KBR, which admitted bribing officials.

KBR last year pleaded guilty to paying $180m (£115m) in bribes to Nigerian officials prior to 2007, when it was a subsidiary of Halliburton. The firm agreed to pay $579m (£372m) in fines related to the case in the US.

But Nigeria, along with France and Switzerland, has conducted its own investigations into the case.

The war criminal, the coward Cheney has been charged for something which was his bread and butter, bribing and accepting bribes. And that too in a far off land.

Amazing that a nation so notorious for bribery would indict our most notorious political figure for the same. Good luck on extradition.

YJ.Charges might have been framed against Cheney so that he is extradited because he might have not shared the bribery amount with Nigerian officials.Once he settles the issue,he would be cleared of all charges.A corrupt government and a corrupt to the last drop of his blood,Dick Cheney knows how effectively matters pertaining to bribes are settled,by accepting bribes, giving bribes.Who does know better than Cheney.Rest assured,he won't end up in a Nigerian prison.
