Nine worshippers killed in Pakistan mosque blast

At least nine worshippers were reportedly killed and several others sustained injuries when a blast ripped through a mosque Thursday evening in the troubled Bajaur tribal region of Pakistan.

Nine people were killed and several others injured as a result of an explosion that ripped through a local mosque during Maghrib prayers here in Badan area of Mamond on Thursday, Geo News sources said.

The local officials said the blast could be a suicide attack in which four persons were killed on the spot.

The injured, some of them seriously, were rushed to District Headquarter Hospital Khar.

Leader of a national Lahkar Rehmatullah was also critically injured and later succumbed to his wounds while being shifted to the hospital.
