During the late night festivities on Granville street, a man wearing an American flag is approached by policed and told to put away his flag. Initially, the man refuses, but eventually relents. The man says police told him someone might start a fight - and that he would then be arrested for breaching the peace.
I interview him soon after...

Weird way for the police to react, especially since the monument at the border just a few miles south says "Children of a Common Mother". Texans don't mind me parading my Canadian Flag in Texas. Wake up Vancouver Police.

If I were in his place, I would be LIVID !
Nor would I freely remove the "Stars & bars" for their comfort.
