Pakistan security forces were most likely protecting Osama bin Laden. The Pakistan government is likely complicit in supporting the Taliban and insurgents operating in Pakistan. They are likely a deceitful regime bent on trying to have it both ways very much like other extreme regimes in the world.

Look at North Korea for instance. The rogue dictatorship continues military hostility, threatening regional security. They are always on the brink of starving the population, though by rattling nuclear sabers they bargain for food and get it every time.

Iran is on that path as they have the oil hostage card to play in Hormuz.

Pakistan has the “hidden” nukes too. For awhile they had the hidden Osama bin Laden.
