No! I am not a member of a cult?
I have notice that members of a Religious cult really hate to see their religion being called a Cult. Looking at one of the main stream religion in particular the Christian Faith, of which has split into hundreds of faiths all supposedly following the teaching of Christ.
The founding Christian faith was Catholicism of which only became a strongly followed religion because it was imposed by a Roman Emperor (Constantine); in fact it was tailored to his needs by mixing Judaism with chosen Gospels and bringing in Idols to simulate the old faiths of Rome. Through out the centuries the religion was first imposed within the expanding Roman Empire and then later by the nations of Europe that evolved after the empire collapsed. New religious cults emerged from the catholic faith they had a differing opinion on idols and how the religion should be run. Colonization of the World by European nations spread the religion in it original roman form and also in its cult related form across the globe.
Many new religious cults had formed there after most fled and settled in the American colonies and others developed there after from the time America declared its independence. Seemingly USA has bred some of the worst silliest indoctrinations and many of them are Christian related. Then there is those that blatantly decided to start a religious cult as profitable business. Evangelism became big profit organizations using the radio and television to raise funds and the leaders became very rich. Other cults expect their followers to pay 10% of there earnings to fund their church, once again the leaders became very rich.
They use charity and even politics to fool their indoctrinated followers that the cult’s is only doing charitable things and to hide the fact that the leaders are running the cult for there own benefit.
Of course this religious based business has been copied out side of the USA in countries such as the Philippines where cult’s leaders are actual making a living from the rich and very poor. Well so has the original religion that all these cults have sprouted from by the evangelists are making much more of a fortune because they are more organized and their indoctrination is deeper than the catholic faiths. They have just modernized religion and are more vibrantly marketing the product that of an adapted Christianity that can not be called anything other than pure cultish in its nature.
The indoctrination is so deep that the followers will not have there faith questioned nor have they the ability to question the faith because to do so they think they will go to hell. To me that’s sad and I feel deeply sorry for these poor souls that are being conned out of their hard earn cash. To them the word cult is blasphemous when referred to the Cult they have been indoctrinated into.
By an by its always has seem crazy to me why many Christian cults are sending out missionaries to Christian Countries to convert Christians. But this is a money making business and the bigger the flock the more money made. That’s of course the Catholic Churches principle on birth control, the bigger the population the more money made.

If you believe in a God please take this advice; Cut out the middle man and pray direct as the middle man wants your money.
at 19:27 on October 6th, 2009
I must add two more points.
Middle man is always meddle man. Beware of them, especially if they dress differently.
God must understand all languages, being the creator. He even understands silence. You don't need to pray in any particular language or to do a series of marital art movements to get the blessing of god.
God has zero fashion sense. That is why he sends us to this world without any fashion accessory.

But seemingly God is not out of fashion?

Hmm..there is a concept in Hinduism, Babel-Fish. It says "Aham Brahmasmi" in Sanskrit. The rough translation is "I am the universe". The meaning is the "me" or self is a part of the the universe, so the universe is me and I am the universe. Fashion or not I being universe will never change. Never when one lives, never after one dies. Laws of conservation of mass and energy - according to the modern science. That how the ancient wise considered and conceptualized God. You an see the similar independent analogies in the Gaia thesis and so forth.
Later on so many impurities poisoned the once clean water.

So then why do the earlyest Hindu Vedas speak of there being one God ?

To understand more once needs to read and study the Vedas.

The problem is that most people do not study their own religion thoroughly just follow it blindly fully indoctrinated in its goodness and promises and aware of its evils.
Thanks for bringing the Vedas into debate

Ok, you do that

You too do that

"The founding Christian faith was Catholicism of which only became a strongly followed religion because it was imposed by a Roman Emperor (Constantine); in fact it was tailored to his needs by mixing Judaism with chosen Gospels and bringing in Idols to simulate the old faiths of Rome."
This article flounders and drowns in this, the opening sentence. While the last portion of it may contain some small semblance of fact, the rest is so blatantly false as to be beyond comment.

That your opinion! mine is based on religious history and logic thinking.
However please do not try to fob of an opinion when you are unable to really answer it. There seem to be much of this when it comes to religious based issues, not really smart.

Babel-Fish is outside biblical logic! Babel-Fish, being one sided, is unbecoming of a citizen journalist.
Babel-Fish can be considered a middle man too! Middle man of what? Middle man of misinformation, that is. I will stand up to what I say, and I am saying this based on his own definition,"Cut out the middle man and pray direct as the middle man wants your money." I want to ask him if he accepts that the bible teaches how Christians should pray and behave.
Babel-Fish noticed that Catholicism is Christian founded. But is it true? Catholicism is not founded in Christianity, but more on paganism, roman culture, etc. It has a totally different teaching biblical speaking.
The teaching says, freely received, freely give! Do the Catholic priests follow this? Baptism, Confirmation, Marriage, Death, Prayers, all of which have its respective cost if you will request one from the Catholic Church. It has idols in every form and sizes which in their catechism are taught to be worshiped. While some Christians do not follow Christian commandments, and yet they call themselves Christians.
I do not wonder why Babel-Fish talks or report this way because he, himself is unsatisfied to his previous Christian denomination who might have sprouted out from Catholicism. But did he talk about his ex-religious group?
History tells us that the wicked men who ever lived were atheists.
I will ask Babel-Fish again to define the term "cult" based on his current religious or non-religious group.
I know of this Christian group that is not a cult, who has Bible expositions, exposing the evil and deceit of other religious groups while preaching the teachings of Jesus Christ. I hope you listen so that you can distinguish who are those corrupt religious group from those who are not.
Again, not every Christian bases their belief from Catholicism. There is this one who is a Christian group, presided by Bro. Eli, that cleaved to the Church of God, being mentioned by St. Paul in the Holy Scriptures.

On no I am defiantly not a middle man I am not a priest nor do I want your money. Babel fish did not notice babel-Fish knows that the Christian/Judaism religion was all based on pagan religions its just more sophisticated and the indoctrination method improved to be just like a virus. Indoctrinate the parents of whom help then to indoctrinate the children charge them to use the temple by need to leave offering has now become much more business like. Baptism, house blessings, confirmation, weddings and of course funerals. Or and sell religious icons or religious literature even the Holy books. Nice little earners.
A fool and his money are easily parted.
What I am is a very sensible guy that got fed up being rip off and fooled it something that really is out outlandish and un-logic searching for a God and something i really could believe in lead to me becoming a non believer an atheist. Not a middle man just a sensible one
To an atheist all religions are indeed cults just the same as the pagan ones that the mainstream religions are all related to.
Bro Eli is just another Evangelist cult leader making money out of religion he is even wanted for alleged crimes in the Philippines of which he fled to USA to evade being taken to the courts of justice. The cause of two such cult having an un-christian like vendetta accusing each other as sinners. It's pretty sad really.
Is there two sides to religion, yes the one the followers are indoctrinated in seeing and the other the religious conman don't want them to see. My view shows the side the conmen don't want you to see. Yes faith is good, religion can help one to find and make friends, yes the charity given before the church leaders reap off Hugh profits is good as well.
But being used is never a good thing.

Think its far more likely that some of the rules of religion are inconvenient for your lifestyle

You dare to continously consider yourself a citizen journalist and a writer, Bubble-Fish/Babel-Fish - a fish caught from its own mouth. You are here to flabbergast about yourself and your own notion of Christianity!
I repeat, you are a middle man of misinformation. You are beating the wrong horse, instead of your own ex-religion? Why? Did you lose your interest from it? How many more interests in life will you overlook for the reason that you can't defend or expose them?
What consists the indoctrination given to you that made you question your religion? What was your previous religion that was shaken before you decided to be a born again free thinker?
If you really believe that Catholics founded its teachings from Christianity; afterwards, different religions sprouted from it, hence, they are cults; then, it will be possible that there will be a Christian group that didn't originate from Catholicism and it is not a cult.
You need to clarify these things because you are blatantly beating around the bush.
Now, atleast, you clarified your intention to malign, Bro. Eli, who in 40 plus years has been exposing religious anomaly and deceits in the Philippines and now abroad doing the same to preach the Christianity that you missed out. Bro. Eli is a biblical Christian, who teaches biblical religion and the gospel of God!

Worm wood, it looks like Bro.Eli has gotten you where he needs you to be, he has given on overdose of indoctrination...
at 05:05 on October 16th, 2009
If you can't even register, I say, you are evading from my questions about the topic! What consists the indoctrination given to you that made you question your religion? What was your previous religion that was shaken before you decided to be a born again free thinker? How do you define the term "cult" in both an atheist and Christian perspective?
If you are a biblical preacher, you know where your listeners should put their faith, trust, and hope, that is, to The Living God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. But you are a preacher to yourself, Babel-Fish.
Bro. Eli is different from you, Babel-Fish. He is accountable to God not because it is the right thing to say, but it is what God says to whoever will teach His Gospel. How about you? To whom are you accountable, if you are wrong? Are you saying you are accountable to yourself, you that is existing because of an accident?
We need to know where you are coming from, to rule out if this article of yours is a vendetta itself to either your ex-religion/ex-group, to the Catholics and her cohorts, or against Bro. Eli. Is it correct that from believing in God in military, now, you digressed away from Him and His teachings by being a born again free thinker? But I can't say that you learned about God's teachings; more so, you never knew God. At least know him through Bro. Eli's preaching, reading to you the Holy Scriptures in its proper context, then, you will know that God cannot lie and He is Love.
At least, give us, the readers, the courtesy of truth.
What you do is you try to out-wit the readers here. Why did I say so? Because as you defined vendetta, correlating it to Christianity, is like giving yourself an immunity to be questioned. Being yourself now, you don't need to follow Christianity as you never give God a chance to rule over you, in His time to fulfill what He promised in the Holy Scriptures. And yet when you argue, you use God's teachings to prove Christians wrong. How can you use a teaching of a non-existent to prove you are right? If we talk about vendetta and use your definition, it points directly at you.
How can you throw stones to us Christians and tell us that, at the same time, hey Christians, you can't give a bread and water to me because you are a Christian or you belong to a religion? By answering and exposing the deceits of other religious group, aren't these biblical? Will Christians also play mute and dumb when people like you wanted people to enjoy their materialistic life and forget all about the God who created them, when they will be judged at the end? In short, you are likewise telling us that it is bad for us to answer because it is against good and we are a cult. You wrote your articles, even your comments imparting in that way, Babel-Fish. Your logic is a shipwreck.
If you have something against the Roman Catholic Church, don't generalize about her errors and those religions that sprouted out of her, and then blaming it to everyone that says they are Christians. There are Christians and a Christian group whose belief and faith are not founded in Catholicism nor her daughters and not a cult.
We are biblical Christians, with our presiding minister, Bro. Eli, we follow the doctrine of Jesus Christ and put it into practice, even the biblical religion.
You really demonstrated how foul you play, Babel-Fish. In Filipino-Tagalog, you are "tuso" or cunning. Jose Rizal has documented a fable about the The Tortoise and the Monkey.
What can we learn about the fable? At the end, no matter how cunning the monkey is he choices are based on what is seen; on the other hand, the tortoise chose the part of the banana tree/pseudostem that will grow. The tortoise chose the part with the roots and planted it in the soil; whilst the monkey chose the upper part for convenience thinking that it already has leaves and it will bear fruit faster, but soon it withered. But when the tortoise's share bore fruits, the monkey volunteered to get the fruits for the tortoise. The monkey ate the fruits and threw the banana peels to the tortoise instead.
A monkey chose that thing that is superficial, but now has wrote his article as if it was the part with the roots. Is it that easier to throw us in your muddled water, Babel-Fish, than to investigate deeper? But we will fight the good fight, taking into consideration our faith and conscience.
Babel-Fish, true, there are two sides of the coin, and yet you put the other side hanging while you malign and accuse Bro. Eli, hidden in your article at first, and now you revealed your real intention. What other tricks will you come up with? Ah, we'll see that on your next article/s!

You are mistaken in imagining that catholicism was the first church, and by that time the characteristics & vibrancy of the first christians had long past it seems. The reason why is likely the same as the reason it is so today: people talk the talk, but few actually walk it like the early church did. Look & see if you can find anyone at all living like the prophets or the holy people of biblical times. You don't. I've seen people who are billed as "prophet" or "prophetess" as they go around living extravagantly and more like lords or masters rather than serving others in humbleness like those who were closest to God in ancient times. As for cults, as in a religious make-believe? -- People actually have seen God and angels with their literal eyes (In the bible, Exodus 24:9-11; Judges 6: 11-13; Numbers 12; Exodus 33:8-11.)
