No media freedom in Sri Lanka

Reporters without borders accuse the Sri Lankan government of slashing the hope for a rebuilding of democracy by denying access to independent journalists into the latest elections. Only State machinery reporters were allowed to cover the Tamil regions, the Jaffna and Vavuniya voting event. With still thousands still held in the detention camps from these regions, the elections are pretty much fully controlled by the Rajapaksa government.
