Former British SAS officer Simon Mann was whisked away from his jail cell in Zimbabwe in the early hours of Thursday morning and extradited back to Equatorial Guinea to face the government he tried to overthrow.

Mann, along with others, set up "security consultancy" agencies in the 90's to protect the interests of large corporations and governments in several African countries.  His arrest in 2004, along with 60 other mercenaries, at Harare airport on their way to the coup put an end to his business plan.

The son of ex-Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, Sir Mark Thatcher, was also put on trial for the 2004 incident however he got off easy with fines.  Simon Mann will not be so lucky as he is now in the hands of the "worst despot" in Africa.

UPDATE:  Mann is Missing 4 Feb 13:00 GMT

Earlier reports concluded that mercenary suspect Simon Mann had been extradicted, in the middle of the night, from Zibabwe to Equatorial Guinea are being questioned by his lawyers.  Mann, who was serving a prison sentence in Zimbabwe, has disappeared according to his legal representatives in Zimbabwe and the UK.  No records of him leaving prison or arriving in Equatorial Guinea can be found.  There are suggestions of the police kidnapping an injured Mann and confining him in a secret location.  Could it be that his mercenary buddies "liberated" him?  Stay tuned!  :)  Newest info here.

Update:  Mann Interview  March 10th

An interview with Simon will be broadcast this week on television.  It is suspected that he will "name names" in a bid to get his sentence reduced or to even be set free.  He is now being held in Equatorial Guinea and the Bristish government, oil investors, and business associates who were involved with him are anxiously awaiting to hear what "Simon Says".  More to the story here.

Update:  Trial Begins  June 17th

Simon Mann will appear in court today to face charges, outcome could be death penalty.  More on this ongoing saga here.

Thanks, Mann was running a company similar to Blackwater in the US, the televised interview or his public trial could prove very interesting!
