Mobile major Finland based Nokia rules Indian Mobile handset market, but it has been facing tough competition from the home grown brands like Micromax, Zen and Karbonn. This competition is more tough for in the duel SIM segment in which Nokia had no phones.

Keeping the growing demand of market Nokia today launched its first duel SIM handset C1. It would not be cake walk for Nokia marketing team to approach market when Star power like Indian crcket team captain MS Dhoni and king of Bollywood is promoting the local brands.

Latest Nokia offering C1 is going to give good price fight with its Rs 1999 but comparative features are far behind the local players.

Nokia executive vice president Mary McDowell said, "Entry-level consumers need dual SIMs for various reasons, including economising time and costs, improving efficiency and for increased convenience. To address these consumer requirements, Nokia has launched these two devices that offer multiple SIM capabilities with a balanced feature set and relevant innovations at affordable price points.”

The Nokia C1 with additional features like flashlight, FM radio and call divert feature to ensure that users don't miss a call from either of the two SIMs.

How people will respond to this latest offering of Nokia, which has great brand value amongst customers, is very tough to guess. Specially when it already announced that the next version C2 will be launched later this year with additional access services like Ovi Life Tools and Ovi Mail. It will also have a music player and support micro- SD cards of up to 32 GB.
