I hope that the people in North Vancouver City and District will come out and vote in bigger numbers than the last election. There are important issues that need to be addressed by the Mayor and Councillors - that affect us all! Please get out and vote for the person you think will truly represent your vision for this city (and district). As I'm a resident of North Vancouver City, my concern is about the densification of this city without adaquate consultation with the residents (home owners and tenants alike). Although the Mayor has spoken about lack of rental accommodation in this city - I do wonder if he has a true grasp of 'affordable housing' in this City which is very much needed. There are other issues to tackle certainly, but I'm so tired of seeing younger families shut out of living in this City!

Hmmm, I uploaded the photo from the site I used .... but for some reason only half the photo came up!? That's not happened to me before ... so I don't know what's wrong! Maybe someone can fix it?! (*Sorry about that).

The thumbnail you see here is a cropped from the original version.

Ahhh, so here it is! Is there some way to get this out of the "World" link and into "Local" -- as it would be more useful to have "local people" read it! Can this be done?

This is a bit of a 'side note' .... but I feel so proud of myself that I was finally able to download the Highlight Tool. Being a bit of a technical dinosaur .... it felt like a major achievement when it was finally downloaded successfully. Now I just have to see if I can figure out how to move the 'highlight icon' to a place on my Toolbar ... where it's actually visible and not at the end where I have to click on the arrow! How I wish I were twenty-something sometimes --- when it comes to computer/internet usage ... lol.

Me too - I'll be voting tomorrow (not in North Van, but my own district)

Here we are on the VERY DAY of the MUNICIPAL ELECTION and I'm quite surprised at the small amount of reporting on our local election here in North Vancouver! There's been a couple of stories in the North Shore News recently -- but nothing that would make a person really feel connected. It's kind of a sad state of affairs really. Our current Mayor is guaranteed as no one decided to run against him this time around. There's about 4 new councillors who want the job -- but only two of them that really went out and got out there to meet the public and answer questions!
Perhaps in Vancouver things are a little more lively than here, especially with the recent Millenium scandal in the news, and the different views between NPA and Vision Vancouver! It seems I'm more informed about the Millenium debacle at City Hall and whether it should have been discussed "in camera" or not? And why the public had not been told as soon as a decision was made that the City guaranteed a loan of $100,000,000? All pretty juicy stuff! I do wonder how the public is going to react to all of this coming out so recently .... and just the different personalities of the candidates!
