Norway “snubbed” by China in trade deal
The same people, who awarded the Nobel Peace prize to Barack Obama last year, gave the same to a Chinese dissident. While some Americans thought that Obama’s award was premature, the Chinese are outraged and offended.
The Chinese justice system deserves no respect because it undermines human rights and liberties and cannot be trusted. The Chinese do not observe the same standards and principles of the free world. Therefore, there is disagreement.
The free world must withhold trade as that is the primary leverage. In a global economy that is difficult, though coordinated and disciplined strategy among allies can make a difference in the long run.

A small nation with a big award flushed China's belligerence toward human rights into the light of liberty for all to see.
“China in second snub to Norway

A proposed trade deal between China and Norway could be in jeopardy after Beijing cancelled another round of high-level talks with Oslo, in the second such snub since the Nobel peace prize was awarded to a leading Chinese dissident.
Norway has been negotiating with China since 2008 in a bid to become the first European country to strike a bilateral trade accord with Beijing.
China on Tuesday cancelled a ministerial-level meeting with Lisbeth Berg-Hansen, Norwegian fisheries minister, for the second successive day.
Ms Berg-Hansen was scheduled to meet her counterparts at China’s fisheries ministry and food safety authority as part of talks on bilateral seafood trade.
The Norwegian government has stressed that it had no influence over the Nobel committee’s decision. But this has done little to mollify Beijing, which has portrayed the prize as a western plot to undermine China.
“The Norwegian Nobel Committee, by giving the peace prize to a convicted person in China, shows no respect for the judicial system of China,” said the Chinese foreign ministry. The panel is made up of five former Norwegian politicians elected by the country’s parliament and chaired by a former prime minister.”

I think a better idea to correct the china imbalance might be
wait for it
a carbon tax
why, because we need to start including the environmental price of using coal & oil in every product that uses them (what doesn't)
2nd, If we try, the US could make a serious cut in the "carbon content per widgit" compared to china, giving US manufacturing to get a footing and have a chance at coming back.
