Norwegian palaeontologist Jørn Hurum claims that he and his group have discovered what could be the missing link of the theory of evolution.

Hurum states in Norwegian Newspaper VG (Verdens Gang (World Times)) that

"The theory of evolution is true".

Ever since Darwin got every religious head all frenzy in the 1800s with "Origin of the Species", the theory of evolution has been one of worlds most important question. Through two centuries the battle between creationists and darwinists have escalated.

What is Ida?

Norwegian palaeontologist Jørn Hurum purchased a fossil of a baby monkey from some Germans a couple of years ago, and have now concluded that this fossil is a 47 million-year-old clue to the theory of evolution. Hurum named the fossil Ida after his own six year old daughter.

Now other scientist are criticising Hurum for his appearance in the media in connection with the discovery. They condemn the media hype that has been the repercussion of the discovery.

Now they expect a major uprising within the religious right. This could also be a major leap into our past

Now, that is good news. Am I glad to read that.

I would have chosen another name though. I would not want my daughter to be teased latter on in life, even though Ida is a nice name.
