Not enforcing immigration law is outrageous
I am in favor of employing select amnesty on a case by case basis for the 12 million illegals in the USA today because it is a practical way to process the case load and to dispense with it. The idea is, they plead guilty to entering the USA illegally, may be charged a fine, and will be permitted to stay if they can gain legal employment in a period of three months. That’s what I would propose.
As for enforcing the law, that is what we want the Federal Government to do. If the administration does not enforce the law, that is grounds for impeachment and the process should begin immediately.
The carrot is, you get to create some more government jobs.
“Jan Brewer: Federal Suit Against Arizona Law is "Outrageous"
The law, expected to take effect later this month, would give local law enforcement officials the right to check the immigration status of suspected illegal immigrants. Brewer, who's in Boston attending the National Governors Association's annual summer meeting, said she is "very confident" that her state will win the legal dispute.
"Absolutely," Brewer said. "We feel very, very confident that we stand on good ground that we will push forward, and believe from our heart that it is constitutional and is the right thing to do."
After being informed of the federal lawsuit, Brewer said she spoke with President Obama, but she categorized her conversation with him as "disappointing." Brewer added, "When he spoke with me, I thought we could have a good dialogue and maybe read the bill and come to some kind of solution."
The three-day gubernatorial conference is expected to draw even more attention tomorrow, as pro-immigration groups are planning a large demonstration to protest Brewer's visit to the state.”
