This page contains the strategy behind KATY and there are numerous strategies, legal, social and political.

America sentences people to die in our prisons. America sentences people to die on the street. America also sentences people to die in their homes. Death knows no color, race, religion, age and contains no ambiguity. It is not selective, yet it targets, the young, the old, the rich, the poor.

In 1948, the United States approved the use of material it knew caused cancer. It was widely used from 1909 until 1979 in ships, boiler rooms and firewalls in buildings and it still exists today. Asbestos killed tens of thousands of people directly exposed to it. It was finally banned for use in 1979.

Lead, another killer, was used during the same time-frame, which poisoned our water supplies, our earth, our homes and our children. It too was seen to be harmful.

There is another threat that looms on the horizon in addition to global warming, earthquakes, fires, floods and pandemic events. It naturally occurs. It is a pathogen with an airborne vector that contaminates the body, food and personal effects. Like always it will be buried in billions of dollars worth of studies and a decade of two later, it will be declared a killer after it has killed tens of thousand, so why is it we have to study the obvious? We do it because of our Insurance Companies.

This pathogen is known by many names, has many features and it is labeled “chronic pain”, “asthma”, “chronic obstructive pulmonary disease” and other unexplained anomaly’s miscolored and misrepresented by the medical community because there is no correlation of the facts. Know the difference between medical facts and medical opinions when decifering the truth.

This pathogen is also known as “stachybotra etra”, “stachybotra chatarum”, “asperguillis” and “A. fumigatus” commonly refered to as Black Mold. CDC now estimates that 50% of the homes in America are infested. Most infestations occur in Air Conditioning Ducts, Flooding in Bathrooms and Kitchen, Reoccuring Leaks after a long period of time.

New Renters have experienced blame for what existed from previous tenants.

121,512 children were exposed to this in 2005. Remember manslaughter is against the law whether intentional or unintentional.       http://twusea.org/blog/thunder/

MyRights, I think your story has potential but needs some improvement. I've got a few suggestions, and if you give them a try, I'd be happy to remove this flag. I wasn't sure what was newsworthy in this story. Please add some context by introducing the problem and describing where it is happening. It would help if you could highlight another source to back up your allegations.

Thanks Pep And julianw, I guess you can keep your flag on it.

The source Amanda who wrote this after three days of concentrated research. Amanda is a lawyer in Seattle who works L. Bailey Associates. Her father is the Seattle Police Chief. Well I can see we're not going to get any fairness here.

Thanks for your comments. If you can add some more context to the story (by explaining in greater detail what KATY is, for instance), or if you can write about your personal experience with these toxins (did you live in a home that contained the pathogen in question?), I'd be happy to remove the flag.

julianw,  The links are there for a reason.  If there were no links some stories could become short novels.  Sometimes the story can be told and understood in full without links yet if one just wanted to know more about the story they could tap that little link and learn all kinds of things.  Sometimes its quite obvious you are going to have to go on a little "link journey" to fully understand the whole story.  It depends on the person and their interests.  I can kind of sense this when I'm reading something so I don't think I would do that little flag thing unless I had hit the links and done more reading.  I realize that takes time but then you would not be asking the questions that are explained in the links and I would not be having to write this.   Some stories are 2 second stories and some are very long and complicated.  And,but this is another subject, some try to make them more complicated than they are.   Has anyone used "link journey " yet or did I invent that?    Maybe I read it somewhere but did not hit on the link that would have told me more.

Actually we're doing one better! We just began a new project here in Seattle. We are going forward with a story on KATY including victim information, but the idea will be focused on Congress not this website. In flaging these stories, you not only made a mockery of our effort, but you made a mockery of the victims. API and UPI reporters that we work with at TWUSEA are now raving over our efforts as being the only advocacy focused not only on homelessness, but those victims innocently sent to the streets to suffer with the toxins taken in by piss poor management agencies and money hungry landlords whom seek protection by congress over sub prime mortgages- and killing tenants and their children at the same time. Stop pissing on the one woman who is trying to better her situation through your website. If you want background, you have it at: www.twusea.org
