Notice the absence of an airplane.. by jerry20937

My last 27 hours of existence -

4/8 - Arrive at Philadelphia airport at 1500 for an 1820 flight.

4/8 - Sitting in airport bar at about 1700 and hear a rumor about a bunch of canceled flights.

4/8 - Get up to investigate.. Look at the board and multiple American Airlines flights canceled. Proceed to American desk at about 1720. Proceed to stand in a very long line for about 2 hours.

4/8 - Migrane sets in about 1735.

4/8 - Finally arrive at the ticket counter at about 1945. It's finally determined I'm not going home last night. I'm scheduled for an 820 flight this morning.

4/8 - Arrive at the fleabag hotel provided by American after a huge argument about accommodations for the night. at about 2015.

note: said fleabag hotel has no coffee, no restaurant, not even a freaking bar. I'm pissed at this point and still have the migrane I won't go into detail of the hotel stay.

4/9 - Wake at about 500 still groggy from the migrane. Get showered and begin a quest for coffee.

4/9 - Arrive at airport at 645 to learn my 820 flight was canceled. Immediately call my travel department. Of course they're not in the office at this point..

4/9 - My travel dept calls me back from the voicemail at about 800. I make arrangements to get on a flight leaving at 1155 on another airline. I have 4 hours to kill..

4//9 - too early for the bars to be open, so I find a place to get something to eat. Sit in there for a couple hours.

4/9 - Get up from the restaurant and try to make my way to the gate. I glanced at the board and the FREAKING 1155 FLIGHT IS CANCELLED!!

I hear over the loudspeaker an announcement for a flight that's boarding for Dallas (on the same airline) while I'm reading the cancellation notice. I race to that gate and beg to be put on that flight.

I'm tired of typing.. so I'll wrap up this lttle diatribe. Anyway, I finally arrived home at about 1555, dropped my bags, and got on a conference call starting at 1600. Got off that call at about 1730..

That's 27 hours of my life I'll never get back..
