Nov 4th Voting Day Freebies: Coffee, Ice Cream, Doughnuts Free if you Vote
Who doesn't like free stuff for voting? Like major spectator sports, Election Day Freebies are popular marketing tactics for companies. At the baseball World Series it was Taco Bell and it's "Steal A Base, Steal A Taco" but it's the big boys now with the Election and many more companies are jumping at the chance to provide their own "support" for the big day. Well hey, it's free - anything to get you to the polls! Ben and Jerrys, Chick Fil A, Starbucks Coffee and Krispy Kreme locations are all offering free stuff for your democratic vote - just make sure to produce your "I Voted" stickers.
But beware: voting freebies could be a felony offense.
UPDATE: November 4
Babeland retail locations in New York are giving away free sex toys for voters with their "Voting Feels Good" campaign - your choice between the Silver Bullet vibrator or The Maverick penis sleeve. Offer valid while supplies last between Nov 4 - Nov 11.
If the Maverick rhetoric in the presidential campaigns is doing anything, we hope it’s motivating everyone to get out and vote. Which is why we’re giving away a real Maverick by Vibratex, absolutely FREE to all voters who come into a Babeland retail store. All men, not just Joe Six Pack, love the Maverick sleeve ($20 value). He’s always there to lend a hand, he works for every man, and he bucks the status quo.Wait, it gets better. We’ve got one more enticement. A free Silver Bullet ($15 value), because that’s what our country needs right now, a magical solution to difficult problems. Babeland’s most popular compact mini-vibe feels fantastic and is a great stress-reliever during these troubled economic times!
Bring a voter registration card, ballot stub or your word of honor that you cast a ballot on November 4th and we’ll give you either a free Maverick sleeve or a Silver Bullet. This offer is good at any Babeland location in New York and Seattle November 4-11. While supplies last.
On Election Day this year, a person’s vote can also be a ticket to a variety of freebies at restaurants, from coffee to chicken tenders.
Starbucks Coffee said it would give away a free tall cup of brewed coffee on Tuesday to any customer who voted. The offer will be good all day at participating stores, and no voting proof is required.
"In the best tradition of democracy, we’re using the honor system," a Starbucks spokeswoman said.
Here's the youtube video that Starbucks is using for this promotion - I agree, it's a good reason to give free coffee, but somehow I'm always reminded of the time that Starbucks shutdown all the stores for a retraining day. Gimmick or not - we shall see.
Krispy Kreme has created a special doughnut for Election Day — a star-shaped version of its classic glazed covered in red, white and blue sprinkles. Any customer who comes into a Krispy Kreme wearing an "I voted" sticker can pick one up for free.
Voters who are hungry for more can get an entire free meal at Shane's Rib Shack, an 85-unit chain based in Atlanta. The Shane's Vote America Meal includes three chicken tenders, fries and a 20-ounce drink. After Election Day, the chain said it would offer the combo meal for $5 for a limited time.
And for a sweet way to cap off the day, Ben & Jerry's said it would offer free scoops of ice cream to all customers who visit a store between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m.
With the focus on getting young people to the polls these free items can only help. Ben & Jerry's seem to think so.
Chick-fil-A responded to internet rumours that they would be giving away free chicken sandwiches with the following statement:
“Chick-fil-A did not implement this type of promotion on a national basis. Most Chick-fil-A restaurant businesses are owned and operated by independent franchisee Operators. Some Chick-fil-A franchisees may have planned or advertised such promotions.Upon becoming aware of concerns related to election laws, Chick-fil-A Inc. has asked its restaurant franchisees to discontinue any promotion tied to providing free food products to those who voted. Some Chick-fil-A franchisees may, in lieu of voter-related promotions, engage in other promotions today, unrelated to voting, that would be open to all customers.”
So you may or may not luck out with a free chicken sandwich, but it's worth a shot!

Good stuff. How about the "Silver Bullet" or "Maverick" at Seattle's Babeland Sex Shop. They're advertising "Voting Feels Good". Now that's gotta take the cake ... or the something!
