NTPC commissions Sipat Thermal Project Unit 1

National Thermal Power Corporation Limited (NTPC Ltd), the largest state-owned power generating company in India, has commissioned Unit 1 of 660 MW of Sipat Super Thermal Power Project today.
This is the first super-critical 660-MW unit of NTPC, which has been added to the capacity. With the commissioning of this unit, the total installed capacity of Sipat Super Thermal Power Project goes up to 1,660 MW and the total capacity of theNTPC has increased to 34,854 MW.
Sipat is a small village 300 kilometers from Bilaspur may become biggest city in Indian state of Chhattisgarh due to NTPC power project. The city is changing into industrial town due to presence of Power giant of India.
