The security for the leaders visiting DC for the Nuclear Security Summit was evident without having to travel all the way to the convention center where the event was being held. The US Coast Guard had promised and increased presence on the water around the city and their boats were speeding around with the DC police boats as well. Additional support was provided by the National Park Service's Bell 412 helicopter and the DC Metropolitan Police's Eurocopter AS350 B3. There was also a Piper PA-42 Cheyenne circling overhead that had to be from the government, because they were not allowing any general aviation aircraft anywhere near the city, unless they were going directly to or from an airport.
