NUJP condemns murder of TV host

The National Union of Journalists of the Philippines condemned Monday the murder of a former minister of the Iglesia ni Cristo religious sect and TV host in Pampanga on Sunday.

NUJP President Jose Torres urged police to investigate the murder of Marcos Balais Mataro, 40, host of the UNTV program "X-Man."

Torres said Mataro is the 2nd local mediaman to be killed this year and the 56th since Gloria Arroyo became president in 2001. He said Mataro's murder could be linked to his work as a TV host for the Ang Dating Daan sect.

johnjosephvillareal, I've got a few suggestions, and if you give them a try, I'd be happy to remove this flag.  News should always be about posting current stuff - new things you've discovered. Please review What Makes News News. It can really help if you follow the old "W5" news formula -- making sure you have answered the questions: Who? What? Where? When? And Why? (You might want to check out our J-Tips for more help.)

Cynthia Yoo,

If you will only check what I posted you will probably see that I didn't write the news. ABS-CBN News Online written that news. So I guess your flag is not in the proper place.

I hope you will make an action, and get rid of your flag  already. Will appreciate it.

Report said > "Torres said Mataro is the 2nd local mediaman to be killed this year and the 56th since Gloria Arroyo became president in 2001. He said Mataro's murder could be linked to his work as a TV host for the Ang Dating Daan sect."

This incident hit two issues, protection of media personality and religious rights.

You better read the follow up reply of cynthia yoo, she said it is now improved. Also, I'm more particluar to deliver the contnet of the news i the public rather than the perfecting the technicalities.

Thank you for taking time to read.

Then anyone can do as they please.  The editors try as much as possible to have the contributors follow the house rules.  Every newsroom have house rules and every journalist follow certain "technicalities" to have their stories fit for print and/or broadcast.

The highlight tool and posting guidelines are not so hard to follow now, is it?

How many respective media personalities are crying already to stop killing media people? Killing or physically hurting people in the media by those being hit by their broadcast is not the right way to express their protests with their concerns.  They should fight  the fair fight if they have principles to fight as well. Perhaps then they have done these killings because they cannot refute the media people's principles, such as Mataro's.
